A photograph is the result of a process that begins with an idea, sparks with the human interaction between photographer, subject and a team, and is supported by technique and craft to materialise the envisioned image in a negative, and ultimately a print.
I believe the printed image to be the end result of this loving process; a tangible object which creates a direct connection with the artist and becomes part of the spaces we inhabit. In a time of endless scrolling and split second attention economy, I strongly feel the need to pause, to observe and create with our hands and to honour the process as much as the end result.
I would like to share this journey and my love for the craft by offering these prints. Each is hand made by me in the darkroom, a slow process of observation and interpretation, which takes hours to execute, and years to perfect. Darkroom prints are made with silver gelatine or platinum and palladium noble metals, techniques which have stood the test of time in quality and permanence.
Below there’s a curated selection of some of my favourite prints, and details of each one of them. I can also make prints by request, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have a specific request.
